i4F installation or installation of SPC rigid flooring Materia SPC with the i4F system, refers to the installation of SPC rigid flooring using the i4F click system to join the planks together.
i4F is a patented floor bonding technology that allows for quick and easy installation without the need for additional glue.
Steps to follow for i4F placement
- Make sure the floor is clean, level and free of any obstructions. Remove any carpeting, furniture or other objects from the area.
- Allow the floorboards to acclimatise in the room for at least 48 hours before installation. This allows the floor to adapt to environmental conditions and prevents expansion or contraction after i4F installation.
- Check that the boards are in good condition and free of defects.
- Installation of the first row: Start in one corner of the room and place the first board in position. Make sure it is level and aligned correctly. Use space dividers to ensure adequate floor expansion.
- Place the next board at an angle of approximately 30 degrees to the previous board and then lower it down to snap it into place. Use light pressure to make sure the boards are well connected.
- Repeat the previous step to join the remaining boards of the first row. Then proceed to install the next rows, making sure that the joints between the boards are well aligned and that the pattern of the floor is uniform.
- When you get to the end of a row, you may need to trim the last board to make it fit correctly. Use a suitable cutting tool to make the necessary cuts.
- Once you have installed all the boards, remove the room dividers and place the finishing mouldings around the edges of the room to cover the expansions and give a clean finish.
